Haveri University, Haveri is a newly formed university in the year 2022-23. Effect of pandemic and dropout of Rural in Higher Education have led to formation of this university at Haveri, one of the rural and backward districts in Karnataka State. Objective is to provide quality skill-based education to youth in multidisciplinary emerging areas.Even though Covid-19 caused sad disasters across the globe, but it was a blessing in disguise for Education Sector. The Teaching Learning activities, including assessment and evaluation changed from Offline to Online mode. A platform for blended/remote learning was created.This paradigm shift encouraged technology development not only in the area of educational softwaresbut also in usage of audio-visual aids in teaching learning activities. The post covid era disturbed/distracted not only the time-line of academic calendar but also the teaching-learning practices of staff & students.

Implementation initiation of National Education Policy 2020 (NEP2020) has posed newer challenges in effective teaching-learning. Universities and Institutes have to gear up to upgrade institutional infrastructure and elevate the competency levels of faculty members for smooth implementation of NEP2020.

At present (end of AY 2022-23), Haveri University has six postgraduate programs. The university proposes to start MBA & MCA degree programs in coming academic year2023-24. New programs in energy, data science, hotel administration, aviation, hotel management shall be introduced in 2024-25 academic year. The university also proposes to introduce Integrated programs, industry-oriented degree program and outreach collaborative activitiesin new areas of learning.

To live up to the objectives set by the state governmentsuggestions/support from people of Haveri district, local governance, self-help groups, NGOs, industries and kind hearted donors will be sought.

The higher education scenario has drastically changed after the COVID 19 pandemic. While the students are reluctant to come to the classroom, the higher education institutions struggle to ensure basic adequate teaching-learning amenities. Funding higher education has become a challenge to parents, governments as well as Universities. In the meantime, NEP-2020 came as a great transformation, with an aspiration to raise the GER in higher education to 50% by 2030. Accordingly, in order to expand the access of higher education to rural people, the Government of Karnataka announced the creation of new smaller universities. These universities are expected to ensure provision of skill-based higher education to the rural youth of Karnataka by leveraging the emerging technology.

Against this backdrop, the Haveri University has committed itself to the vision of empowering rural minds and transforming communities. New programmes that are skill and job-oriented will be started; research ecosystem will be made robust; collaborations and linkages will be developed with institutions, industries and labs for student internships and apprenticeships. Efforts will be made to create a productive and fruitful learning ambience. The alumni will be networked for helping the University and her students in whatever way they deem fit. The work environment will also be made more digitized and user-friendly for ensuring better service delivery and also for scaling up the operations.

The guidelines and protocols of the government authorities and regulatory bodies will be strictly adhered to for transparent administration, enhancing the academic standards and the student support. The University will be communicating regularly with all the stake holders, through varied platforms, about the University’s rules, regulations, academic calendar, examination procedure and deadlines. The University will have a stakeholder friendly grievance redressal mechanism with realtime registration of the complaint and time bound redressal of the same.

Being a rural-based university, the University will explore opportunities to make a positive impact on the surrounding communities. Extension and out-reach activities will be part of curriculum in each programme so that the University can actively participate in community development and engage in activities that promote social welfare. I invite everyone to be part of this endeavor for building a strong and vibrant university that serves as a beacon of knowledge and opportunity to the rural community.

Timely completion of evaluation: Strictly adhere to the predetermined timelines for evaluation. Ensure the prompt submission of evaluated answer scripts or digital assessment records to the concerned department for further processing.

Confidentiality and data security: Safeguard student information and maintain the utmost confidentiality throughout the evaluation process. Adhere to the university's data protection policies and guidelines.
